Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduate Program

The Computer Science and Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET; see http://www.abet.org.

Exclusive of General Education units, the minimum number of units for the Computer Science and Engineering major is 142.

Students are encouraged to adhere carefully to all prerequisite requirements. The instructor is authorized to drop students from a course for which stated prerequisites have not been completed.

Change of Major

The requirements to change majors into the Computer Science (CS) major in the College of Letters and Science changed in Spring Quarter 2015. With the declaration of CS as an impacted major, new prerequisites to transferring into the major will be enforced.

Students that are considering switching to CS must have a 3.0 GPA at the time the petition is submitted. Additionally, students must have completed all of MAT 21AB, ECS 20, ECS 30, and ECS 40 with a C- or better. University requirements state that all students considering switching their major must have completed at least one quarter at UC Davis, as well as be in good academic standing.

Students must then make an appointment with one of the major advisers using the Advising Appointment System to make a course plan.

Changing from a Major in another school to ICS

·         Visit the UCI Change of Major Criteria websitefor a listing of specific change of major guidelines for your intended major.

·         Meet with an ICS academic counselor or peer advisor as soon as possible to determine whether you are eligible to switch majors and to map out an academic plan.

·         Once you have met the Bren School of ICS change of major requirements:

·         Submit the Change of Major Application online

·         If you have over 120 units, an academic plan with intended graduate quarter and year must also be submitted.

What does Impacted/Capped Major status mean?

Effective Fall 2015, all four CSE majors are capped/impacted.  Impacted/Capped Major means there is a cap on the number of students admitted to the major.  Incoming freshmen, transfers, and continuing students who were not admitted directly into an impacted major will need to apply to change into that major.  Please see our Capped Major webpage for more details.

U of Washington:

Is there a minimum GPA for an application to be considered?

There is no minimum GPA to apply, and there is no automatic admission or denial based on GPA. Everyone who has met the application requirements will be considered.  However, admission is competitive, and admitted students have strong grades.  In general, competitive applicants typically have grades of 3.5 and higher in related math, science, CSE, and English courses, with strong grades overall -- but there is no exact formula determining what grades will be competitive. Speak to a CSE advisor if you have concerns or questions about your grades.

How many undergraduates do you admit to the major?

Currently, around 300 students per year are accepted into the CSE department. This includes both Computer Science and Computer Engineering.  The CSE Admissions Committee reviews all applications together, so both majors are equally competitive. Approximately 30 percent of all applicants are accepted.  Because the department has multiple application cycles, many people apply more than once, and applicant numbers vary each quarter.  Although CSE tends to have more applicants in the autumn, the standards of admission are roughly the same for both the autumn and spring quarters.

School of Arts and Science.

Leonard N. Stern School of Business:  http://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/how-to-apply/internal-transfers/internal-transfers-stern.html
School of Arts and Science,转去 Stern School 的课程大部分都是被接受的。
