Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com announced Monday it has secured investment worth $550 million from Google as part of a new strategic partnership between the two leading tech companies.
中国电子商务巨头京东周一宣布已经获得谷歌价值5.5亿美元的投资,作为两家领先科技公司新型战略合作伙伴关系的一部分。
Google will obtain around 27.1 million newly issued Class A ordinary shares of JD.com at an issue price of $20.29 per share.
谷歌将获得京东网站最新发行的两千七百一十万支甲类普通股,发行价为每股20.29美元。
The two companies will jointly explore retail business in regions around the world, including Southeast Asia, the United States, and Europe, according to the statement. The cooperation will combine the advantages of JD.com in supply chain and logistics and Google’s technology strengths.

JD.com also plans to make a selection of products available for sale through Google Shopping in multiple regions.
