The number of shared bikes in the Chinese capital has dropped by about 20 percent from a peak period last year, according to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport.
北京市交通委员会称,中国首都共享单车数量较去年的高峰时期下降了约20%。
Now Beijing has 1.91 million bikes, down about 20 percent from a peak of 2.35 million in September, the commission said.
委员会称现在北京有191万辆自行车,与9月份235万辆的峰值相比,下降了大约20%。
From January to June this year, Beijing’s shared bikes posted 1.42 million users every day and nine shared bike operators clocked a total mileage of 400 million kilometers, it said.
据报道,从今年1月到6月,北京共享单车用户达到每天142万人次,9家共享自行车运营商的总里程为4亿公里。
Starting from September, Beijing introduced measures to take redundant shared bikes off the street and regulate the industry to restore traffic order.

The Beijing transport commission said no new bikes will be allowed on the street. Companies will be required to take damaged or idle bikes off the street regularly.
