  American researchers have recently developed a new type of AIDS vaccine. Monkey experiments show that vaccination with this vaccine can protect them from HIV-like infections. This brings new hope for the prevention and treatment of AIDS.

  Researchers from Scripps Institution and other institutions in the United States recently reported the results in the American academic journal Immunity. They developed the vaccine against weaknesses in the protein coat of HIV, which triggers the immune system to produce an antibody that can attack virus-related weaknesses and thus play a protective role.

  美国斯克里普斯研究所等机构研究人员近日在美国学术刊物《免疫》上报告了相关成果。他们针对艾滋病病毒蛋白质外壳上的弱点开发了这种疫苗,疫苗会引发免疫系统产生一种抗体,该抗体能够攻击病毒相关弱点,从而起到保护作用。

  Researchers injected different doses of new vaccines into some rhesus monkeys, some of which produced high levels of antibodies and others produced low levels of antibodies. When confronted with monkey immunodeficiency virus (SIV), which is very similar to human HIV, monkeys that produce high levels of antibodies in vivo can be protected from infection. Researchers say this will help determine the appropriate dosage for future use of the vaccine.

  It is reported that some of the previous ideas of AIDS vaccine research and development rely on the immune system T cells to play a role, and this new vaccine relies on the aforementioned antibodies to play a role, its mechanism is different, adding new ideas for the prevention and treatment of AIDS.

  据介绍,此前一些艾滋病疫苗的研发思路是依靠免疫系统的T细胞等发挥作用,而这种新型疫苗依靠前述抗体起作用,其作用机理不同,为防治艾滋病增加了新思路。

  Researchers next plan to carry out human clinical trials to try to put the new vaccine into use as soon as possible.

  研究人员接下来计划开展人类临床试验,争取早日将这种新型疫苗投入应用。
