中国花卉协会推荐牡丹为国花：牡丹花为什么会成为中国候选国花之一?

　　The China Flower Association on Monday initiated an online poll on its official website, seeking public opinion on whether peony should be designated as the country's national flower. More than 100 varieties of peony have been growing in China for over 4,000 years. In Chinese culture, the flower is seen as a symbol of harmony and prosperity, said the association.

　　7月15日，中国花卉协会发布《征求牡丹为我国国花意见的通知》，并在官网首页发布《投票：我心中的国花》，向公众求对“推荐牡丹为我国国花”的意见。

　　中国花卉协会表示，综合各方意见，推荐牡丹为我国国花。
