“吃瓜群众”新业绩！中国成最大西瓜生产消费国（双语）

　　China is now the world's largest watermelon producer and consumer. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), China produced 79,269,592 tons of watermelon in 2016, imported 234,724 tons and exported 30,968 tons. The per capita consumption was over 50 kilograms in 2016. It is estimated that China's watermelon production will reach 81,823,500 tons by 2020.

　　According to statistics from the China Agriculture Wholesale Market Association (CAWA), the top 10 fruits sold in China in 2017 were watermelon, apple, grape, citrus, banana, kiwi, pear, peach, pineapple and mango.

　　改革开放以来，我国西瓜产业得到了长足的发展，成为世界上最大的西瓜生产国和消费国。据全国城市农贸中心联合会统计的数据显示，2018年中国年度销量前十水果品种为：西瓜、苹果、葡萄、柑橘、香蕉、猕猴桃、梨、桃、菠萝、芒果。看来，“吃瓜群众”不是白叫的!

　　根据联合国粮农组织FAO公布的2018年中国西瓜产量(79269592吨)、进口量(234724吨)和出口量(30968吨)最新数据，记者大致估算了下，我国在2018年消化了超过7000万吨西瓜!如果粗糙点，不考虑到运输与销售中的损耗情况，平均每人每年消费超100斤西瓜，才能撑起如此庞大的产业。
