Nintendo creative fellow Shigeru Miyamoto recently shared his thoughts on virtual reality, saying that while some of its issues are being worked out, he still has a few concerns about the technology.

In terms of being together online in virtual reality, I think a lot of the problems have been solved or are starting to be solved, Miyamoto said in an interview with Time, noting that "this is something that we’re looking into, too."

That said, the brilliant designer behind some of Nintendo’s most iconic franchises still has lingering concerns about VR. "When I see people play virtual reality, it makes me worry, just as for example if a parent were to see their kid playing virtual reality, it would probably make them worry," he explained.

Miyamoto also mentioned another "issue and challenge" that those creating content for virtual reality face, namely "how to create an experience that’s both short enough while also fully fleshed out."

Earlier this month, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima shed light on the company’s plans for virtual reality, saying Nintendo will add support to Switch if it can solve VR’s comfort-related issues during long play sessions—an issue Miyamoto mentioned when he confirmed last year that Nintendo is actively researching VR.
