　　A private lunch with billionaire Warren Buffett has been sold to the highest bidder for almost $2.7million during an annual charity auction. But he still won’t talk about his next investment over steak.

　　The bid was $2,679,001. The winner wishes to remain anonymous.

　　Last year’s bid of $3,456,789 tied for the record highest bid. In 2012, the winner also paid $3,456,789.

　　This year’s eBay auction began Sunday and wrapped up Friday night around 10pm.

　　The auction benefits the Glide Foundation, a San-Francisco-based homeless charity. Buffett’s first wife, Susie, volunteered with the organization before her death in 2004. He has been a big believer in the charity, often touting its work.

　　For this year’s lunch, Buffett says the only topic that will be off-limits in the conversation is what he might invest in next. The 86-year-old says he usually gets a wide range of questions.

　　The winners of the lunch auction typically dine with Buffett at the Smith and Wollensky steak house in New York City, which donates at least $10,000 to Glide each year to host the lunch. The meal has sometimes moved elsewhere for anonymous winners.

　　This is the 18th year in a row Buffett auctioned off a lunch on eBay to raise money for the homeless charity.

　　The chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway has raised nearly $25million through the auctions. The self-made billionaire is worth $76.2billion, according to Forbes, making him the third richest man in the world, behind only Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who overtook him as number two, and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
